Dino was a brand for mid-engined sports car, rear-drive produced by Ferrari from 1968 to 1976. Dino brand is intended to be used for cars with engines that had fewer than 12 cylinders, ordered the Ferrari name for the V-12 and flat 12 models. Dino name was retired after that point, in favor of conventional Ferrari brand. Dino brand was an attempt by Ferrari to produce a relatively inexpensive sports car.
Calls for more power answered with a 2.4 L (2418 cc) Dino 246. This bike is 65 degrees, dual-overhead camshaft, 9.0:1 compression ratio, iron block with alloy heads. European motor produced 195 bhp (at 7,600 rpm), and is available with fixed-top GT coupe or, after 1971, an open Spyder GTS.

Production Dino 246 GTS numbered 2,295 and 1,274 Spyders, the latter which was built from 1972 to 1974 alone, a total of as many as 3,569 produced. Three series Dino built, with differences in the wheels, wiper coverage, and ventilation machines. Series I cars, 357 of which were built until the summer of 1970, the center-bolt wheels utilize the same as 206. Series II cars (built until July 1971 in 507 examples) get five-bolt alloy Cromodora and "clap hands" wipers. Series III cars have little difference to the gearing and fuel supply, and which is built on a much higher level as sales in the United States started with this version. 1,431 1,274 Series III coupe and GTS cars were built.
